Originating from Australasia, and Asia, Nutmeg derives from the fruit of the Nutmeg Myristica evergreen tree.
It’s primary use is for culinary purposes, but it is also used for its essential oils. It is a popular addition to cheese sauces, and sweet Indian dishes. Its oils are used for flavoring sweets, toothpastes, and cough syrups.
For medical purposes, it is used to treat problems in the nervous and digestive systems, as well as nausea, diarrhea, and indigestion.
