Your Goals...

My father has always been a great man for goals, he is a firm believer in the theory that anyone can acomplise whatever they like with determination.

I talked to him a while before I started going to the gym and he asked me why I was going, and surprisingly even to myself, I hesitated with an answer. I sat down and decided that my two main reasons were: 1) Improve Fitness, 2) Improve Body Image.

He suggested to me that I take an image, say a Men's Health cover model and stick it on my wall. This, he claimed, would set my entire being towards my goal, to get me extremely excited about achieving the image I had stuck up and use this excitement as a tool of motivation.

My question is this, how do personal trainers deal with their clients goals and what techniques are used to achieve these?

Thanks,
Niall
