Work out routine

I have recently bought a membership to a local gym and would like to start a workout plan for general muscle building, and toning.

I am a 16 year old boy and weigh around 170 pounds and about 6 feet tall, I am defiantly not out of shape though as I am still able to run long distances and regularly participate in sporting events.

I currently do a 5 km run every other day and then go to the gym to do 20 minutes on an exercycle.

I want to add to this with weights and gym machines but to be honest I have no idea how to use anything other then the bike. it would be great if I could get a plan on what things to use while I am at the gym to generally work everything out, I especially want to work on Abs and upper body strength considering I sail lasers and really need to have endurance while hiking (keeping the boat flat).
