walking/workout videos

Is anyone else here a fan of in home workout videos?

My wife picked some in home walking videos up, and I've started using then and I really like them. The only downside is that you have to get several otherwise it's easy to get bored with them.

There's a park a couple of blocks away from me with a 1 mile walking trail and I like going there, but I had to promise my wife I won't go on days that we work different shifts and she's not home (a few months ago I was there and was at the furthest point from home when I started having severe chest pain...I made it home but it was tough. Since then I have to use the videos if she's not here).

I really enjoy walking at the park, but I've gotten to where I enjoy the videos as well to do a different routine.

a few years ago i was really into workout videos (since i hadn't gathered the courage to join a gym), i really liked one of the walking ones, i think it was called 'walk away the pounds', when watching it it didn't seem like much of a workout but when i'd actually do it then i'd start sweating and be like wow! but i agree with you, unless you have several to mix and match it can sometimes get a bit boring. at the time i used to have a workout partner so we'd psyche each other up.

early this year i gathered the courage to join a gym so that's where i do my workouts now. it was really tough initially (the mental aspect and the physical) but i decided my health was more important. but it's different for everyone, not everyone is into the whole gym idea. so if the workout videos are working, plus the lovely walking trail, then go for it! all the best xoxo

PS: i also had a taebo tape which i thought was really great, it was tough but kinda fun too with lots of punching and kicking.

The ones we have are the "Walk Away the Pounds" series. I really like them. Now and then my wife and I will do one together, which is a scream as our living room floor is only about 6' x 8'. Lots of switching directions when the movements start :willy_nilly:

We've got a pretty nice workout facility at the office and I know some of the girls at work are working out there after we all get off at 11. I wouldn't mind going in there and doing some different things but I don't want to bother them...I'd feel like I was intruding. I think I might find out what nights they work out and go on other nights.

Walking video sounds nice, but I would find the TV too heavy to carry through the park. :)

LOL!

It's funny, tonight I talked to the girls at work about when they work out and that I didn't want to intrude on their time, and they told me to come one down...it would be fun to have someone else to talk to. Then another guy in our section at work was talking to me about it and he said he goes down there and does his thing and they don't bother him and he doesn't bother them. He said they show up one or two nights a week and goof off.

I guess I'll have to go show them how it's done!

good stuff! now you'll have some machines/equipment to help as well, that's great since it'll be a great booster energywise and weightloss-wise. that's great news! i suggest carrying an ipod/mp3 player to help boost your workouts. initially for me i needed music to block out distractions since i was soooo self concious about what i looked like, 2 months on i walk into the gym like i own the place...lol! all the best xoxo

I've already got an MP3 player programmed and ready to go (I take it with me when I got walking at the park anyway) :p
