Use Of exercise

Now that my college is starting and I am working, i will be busy all day from monday to friday. So the only time I will have time to exercise is on weekends. which is 2 times a week ofcourse. But I will still be eating healthy. So my question is what is the minimum of exercise should a person should be doing?

Working out two days in a row, then nothing all week is definitely not ideal. There is no absolute set amount for everyone, b/c everyone is different.

Also, just b/c you don't have time to officially "workout" doesn't mean you can't exercise.
*Try sitting on a stability ball at your desk while doing homework (it's good for your posture, back muscles, and abs)
*Be one of those people who actually do park further away in the parking lot to walk more
*and take the stairs instead of the elevator (walking up stairs with books is great exercise)
*everyone has 5 spare minutes at some point during the day, when you do, do a couple of sets of squats or lunges, the next time do pushups, then dips - you get the idea
*get some of those resistance bands - they are totally portable and you can do a set or two of many exercises in no time with those

Welcome to the crazy social working society. People should do what is necessary and skip over all the fancy stuff (when time is short). Basic movements will burn a whole lot of calories wihile keeping your body functional and recruiting more muscle (the whole tone thing).

So...learn an do these movements:
Squats/ Deadlifts
Chinups/Dips
Pushups/Bentover Rows

Short on time get right to your goals....
Lose bodyfat and maintain muscle mass:
- Eat good (don't know how chack this link out for help
- More cardio
- Higher volume(reps) less intensity(weight)

Maintain bodyfat and gain muscle mass:
- Eat good
- less cardio
- Moderate to low volume and more intensity

The necessary exercises listed above should be good enough to start.
Having trouble with exercise forms, grab one of those smiley folks that check themselves out more in the mirror than a teen with a huge face zit.....oh, we call them personal trainers:D

maybe i wasent detailed enough, I will have enough time todo strength workout b/c you do that just about anywhere. But im talking about cardio on the weekends?

Cardio can also be done just about anywhere. So that is also no excuse to get it down (jumping jacks, jump rope, cardio equip etc).

If for some reason I only had 2 days to do the cardio, I would either have to do long distance type at 70-75% heart rate OR HIIT for a high intensity to moderate intensity.

So you can do strength training through the week... but can't do cardio. Is that correct?

If you absolutely cannot find time to do 5-10 minutes of cardio per day, then definitely do what you can on the weekends. Depending on your current program, goals and fitness level the type of cardio you want to focus on will vary.

I love interval cardio training. It gives a great fat burn workout in a shorter amount of time.
