Tae Bo

Thinking abt trying this and was wondering if anyone else over 220lbs has tried it? Just worried that Im a bit too heavy for this type of intensity but it looks really fun! There are no classes for it in Scotland (that i can find) so I would use a dvd at home. Is it easy to adapt the exercises til i can be fit enough to do them properly?

Thanx in advance!

I went from 380 to 230 lbs doing mainly this 5-6 times per week. I started off doing just the basic then added a few minutes here and there from the advanced as the weight dropped off. Cheesy production values aside, it really is a good, basic workout video that remains a challenge even when you've become smaller. To answer your question, I wouldn't worry too much about it being too 'intense' for your weight at 220 lbs. It is mostly comprised of basic kicks and punches that almost anyone can do. You can go at your own pace and improve as time goes on.

I think Tae Bo is good for anyone, and not hard at all, the basics at least. LOL! I like Tae Bo because it bases on stretches, and most people don't realize stretching is sometimes just as good as working out, because it stretches and tightens the body at the same time. Stretching, dancing, and a little bit of stuff like push ups, oh and the occasional added video of Tae Bo, are my plan for weight loss (of course better eating and drinking less soda). ^.^ I've been at it for three weeks, and I've lost over ten lbs.

I lost a big portion of my weight from boot camp elite and the get ripped advanced series. BTW, if you can find the get ripped videos get them, they are the best/ Both about one hour no gimmicks just a solid workout

the first workout is my favorite. #2 has it's moments, but doesn't seem as challenging until the floor exercises. Then it's just insane. Tape 1 is killer from the go.
