Hello
>Well right now I'm just trying to get some of my fat levels down, not really doing much of a weight routine at all
Ok, well first and formost if you have your nutrition right then i think weights is an integral part of your workout.
Depending on what you would like to do with your weight training, yopu can explore and go into allsorts of avenues but to start i would suggest major exercises that hit a few muscles at one time.
i.e - Bench Press, Lat pull down, Seated row, Shoulder Press, squats and lunges
These are also big calorie burners, you can begin with 1-2 circuits reasonably light 12-15 repetitions and build up to 3 circuits.
These deplete carbs because of the lack of oxygen supply to working muscles.9more so in later weeks or months when you change your type of training from 12-15 reps(endurance) to 8-12(muscle building potential)
If your worried about building muscle, don't because it takes alot to build sufficient muscle to worry about, plus a little muscle will only improve the rate you burn calories at rest
When you come to doing your cardio(swimming/running/rowing/stepper/ x-trainer etc) you will burn almost directly into your fat stores and get more from it
Use swimming one day and cardio another day as your finish off.
Stage 1
Build from 1 up to 3 circuits over the period of 2-3 weeks of 12-15 reps
Rest when neccessary sufficiently to get your breath back this will optimize fat burning and act as interval training in effect, and burn more fat calories
>(Going to start lifting in about two weeks once I get myself more adjusted as I've been out of the gym for quite a few months and my eating habits are HORRIBLE right now).
Good plan.
>Last night I did 45min. on the treadmill, felt really good! (I only did a brisk walk, have to build my lungs back up and all).
Start introducing hill and random programmes or get someone to advise you how you can use hills for intervals
>But I love to swim and I hear it's one of the best things for your bodies that you can possibly do as it works almost every muscle there.
It is good, but your planning on doing weights aswell so it's all good, yourbones will be thanking you for it in years to come
>So I'd like to maybe do 30min. of cardio and then go hit up the pool for a few laps. ......I just wish that I could get my diet on cue.
Little by little for your diet, one thing you can do today is start drinking more water. Then look at your meal timings, alot of people i speak to normally have one meal in the right place but not usually the most important.........breakfast,lol, just get that one in place, it raises your metabolism.
>I don't eat salad and as far as vegetables go, broccoli, peas and green beans are about all I like, but, that's for another topic.
It is, but you have a few in there broccoli if i'm not mistaken is a good anti oxidant and got vitamin c. I don't much like carrots unless i eat them with sunday dinner, lol, and douse them in gravy, god thank bisto, ahhh, lol
Hope this helps
