Question on starting to drink protein shakes. I have a varied workout schedule -- own a business and have 2 kids to shuttle to soccer practices. I will usually walk on treadmill for 1 hour early in the morning. I then take my daughter to workout in the afternoon for another hour where I might walk on the track or use the machines. Normally I do around 20 sets of 12-15 reps on various machines plus crunches, squats and lunges. Days we don't go to the gym I use free weights at home and do squats, lunges and crunches there. At soccer practice I might walk for another 30-45 minutes. Usually walk 1 to 1 1/2 hours 6 or 7 days per week. I walk hard with some running thrown in to elevate my heart rate (bad ankle, can't run alot).
Should I add a protein drink? I have changed my diet to add more protein and to get more calories into it. I had been living off 1000 calories a day. However, the last couple weeks I have stopped losing weight despite not eating and exercising alot. I'm adding more protein rich food to my diet to eat 4 times per day getting up to 1500 calories per day.
I'd appreciate any help!!
