Preventing Muscle Loss During Cardio...?

Here's the issue, I'm trying to loose 20-30lbs in the next 3 months (but loosing fat in general is my goal). Here's my problem, I also want to gain some more muscle... Here's my work out schedule:

Tuesday: Weight training 1hr
Wednesday: Cardio 1hr
Thursday: Weight training 1hr
Friday: Cardio 1hr-2hrs

My problem is mostly with loosing muscle during cardio... From what I understand your body can start going into catabolism mode when it runs out of fuel. So my question - what type of fuel should I eat to prevent this during the days of cardio? I know carbs are great, but I don't want to eat to much because I really want get rid of the fat... Doesn't your body go into the fat reserves when it runs out of carb power?

I guess what I'm trying to ask here, is how do I make my cardio workouts target my fat and not my muscle?

Cheers,
Servo

Perhaps some HIIT is in order for you.

so, if you do heat, you will still gain muscle mass? i also have a feeling that my cardio makes my muscle gains less :S

An hour of cardio 2-3 times a week will not cause catabolism. Keep your protein up and your weight training and you'll be fine.

How about carbs on the days of cardio? How much or how little should I intake?
