Orbitrek or Eclipse 1100HR/A Elliptical Trainer

Hi,

I am a novice in fitness and I need an advice. i am looking for an elliptical to buy so I could exersise at home. I do not want to spend a lot of money for the start so I am looking for used one but I got confused. Both of these ellipticals( Orbitrek and Eclipse) are affordable and both promise wonderful workout. Which one is better? And also I can see that Eclipse needs to be plugged in , but what about Orbitrek? I was trying to find answers on the web but did not succed....

thank you for your answers.. can not wait to read

1100 HRA is the way to go. In 1998 I started to work out on the elliptical I bought the original Obitrek which came with a lifetime warranty. Over the next couple of years, I burned through 6 Orbitreks before a friend gave me a Nordic Track a couple of years later I upgraded to a LifeFitness. The new Obitrek Platinum is better than the original, but their durability is questionable. The Eclipse 1100HRA is a much better value. (By the way, I don't believe you have to plug in the 1100)Go to epinions.com and read the reviews on both

I've been reading reviews of both, and the Orbitrek really appears to be junk. The 1100HRA has good reviews. As far as plugging it in, you can if you want, or you can just use batteries.

Sports Authority and Dicks have the Eclipse 1100HRA for $349.00 and free shipping.

My wife and I are going to try one out this weekend. (not at the same time though...well...maybe when we get it home)
