New here but not workout, maybe you can help me

Hello everyone i just signed up to this forum. I am 20 years old and been working out for the past year or so. I am 6' 1" and my weight fluctuates from 140-155 all the time (stupid metabolism). I have about 4% body fat, not always good when you try to take damage from something. I take GNC mens sports vitamin and fish oil. I did take Endothil for a few months but then i stopped, dont know why.

My problem is this. Ever since I've been working out I have tried to find many ways to contain my energy in the gym. My 3% body fat does not allow me to work out to my full potential because i have no fat to convert to energy and my food supply that i eat ends up running out due to my high metabolism. I have to carefully monitor myself so I dont get to the point where i am about to throw up .

I try to eat around 500 calories an hour before going to the gym and I drink a little bit of carbs and take a bottle of complex carbs with me cause ive read it helps you with energy but I dont know why I still get tired in the gym. I feel like i havent had any sleep for 2 days and my eyes get some pressure on them.

I can lift more than i am suppose to but I just cant seem to have energy. At the end of my workout i am really exhausted and come home to drink about 48 g of whey protein.

Start counting training age from when you started to train intelligently. I'm not trying to be an azz, but so many people do some really fcked up training programs and probably train in some bad habits and imbalances.

Four percent is getting into the danger zone and not maintainable for long, so I suspect what you used to measure gave you a bad reading.

Eat a high carb feeding before the gym, drink a carb drink during (preferably carb and protein) and have a high carb protein drink after.

Also, come on! Three percent? Now you're really stretching it. You went from 4% to 3% in the span of one paragraph?

Carb carbs.

I have been trying to gain weight for the past few months and ive gained about 3 pounts or so. I am not lying about 4%. I got a measure when i was taking a weight class in college and he said 4% but i havent gotten any better. And that was abouta year ago. I have been really working out only for about half a year but ive been on and off for ahalf a year before that.

I cannot believe that you have 4% bf either. Unless you have a serious eating disorder or are a competing bodybuilder, its just not so. Especially with your height to weight ratio.

I would say your lack of energy comes from your diet. What are you eating throughout the day?

Sorry that I do lol. I am way below average. I eat as much as I can when i can. I eat alot of home cooking. I havent touched a hamburger place in months (and that was only for like 1 burger a week). I eat alot of fruits and make alot of salads. I drink a carb drink during workout. Maybe i am just not resting long enough between sets.

I did the BF measurement that is described on this forum and i got 5.5% roughly. I will redo it again when my parents get home. I will try to post a picture. I am very active and my job is very active aswell.

I found NOW's Dextrose compound. Should i just mix it in with my ON 100% natural whey protein drink? I am drinking NOW's Carbo gain. 100% complex carbs. I read it was suppose to give you energy, but has anyone else tried it?

I use Surge, by BIotest. It tastes good, has a 3:1 ratio of carbs to protein, uses whey hydrolosate for the protein, glucose for the sugar and has BCAAs and glutamine in it.

I use 1/2-2/3 strength during the workout and a normal PWO of whey, dex and malt shake after.

curious, what is your job? :)

I am an assistant manager at a Beach store named Wings Beach and sports wear. We get tons and tons of merchandise in boxes that have to be moved, priced put out. I run all over the place most of the time becuase our store gets really busy.

Cynic: Thanks for the suggestion, i will look into that.

if anyone in ireland is looking for a product like this try R.A.M from Nutrion X

it has your 2:1 simple carbs:protein and also contains glutamine AKG, arginine AKG and is an excellent post work out shake

Okay i did a search for Surge by Biotest and i found one that was discontinued and one that is still in production. The one in production is around $80 and only 16 servings. I really cant afford $80 for anything right now. I am thinking of buying pure dextrose and mixing it in with my ON whey protein shake.
