My plan

Well I plan on working on getting a set of abs. I am 17, 6ft 3" around 182 lbs and 22% bodyfat. I have just started recently with crunches and cardio.
On Sunday coming I am going on holiday where temperatures are rumoured to be high 30's to 40's. So I am taking advantage of the weather, as I am often stuck with rain here in Scotland, and I will continue my running in the hot weather, aswell as swimming in the pool and sea in hopes of losing a couple of pounds maybe. Will also plan to eat well abroad, however hard it may be hehe. After my hols in 3 weeks I will post another picture showing my progress, ofcourse I will keep it up after this break. I am hoping to gain abs about this definition, maybe a bit more than this but around the same hehe.
Obviously I'll need to lose bit of weight first...

Hoping to show you the progress that I can be proud of soon...

My humble offerings

1) Get better targets to aim for, those two guys look pretty weak, especially the second one, he wouldn't even be classified as an appitiser.

2) Crunches aren't the best way to target abs, often they use the hip flexors more than abs anyway. Start doing your deadlifts and squats, they're far more effective exercises for your core IMO.

3) Running in heat you're not used to is dangerous, if you plan on running while on holiday do it at night and take plenty of water.

Personally I would aim to be bigger than those two guys....but then again I am a pathetic 5'6" tall so I need SOMETHING. You are tall so that smaller look may suit you better.

I think the second guy doesn't look very impressive atall, especially if you put him next to somebody with decent size. The first guy isn't as bad but not how I am personally aiming to look.

I agree you should change your target from "I will get abs" as it sounds like you just want to be lean and "toned" as some people call it. Rather than actually having some good muscle mass and strength. It is ultimately up to you what you aim for though. Can't see much from your pictures but looks like you could do with putting on some size first....just my two pence!

Do some searching on this site.
Eat good and often. (abs are made in the kitchen is the tagline!)
Compound lifts (squats, deads, etc).

I'm not really wanting abs that 'pop out', I want to define my v-section and basically trim down a bit, make myself look a bit leaner you know?

What my main concern with your plan is that you make no mention of your legs, arms, back etc...All you have really talked about is abs...I think you need to think of the rest of your body instead of just focusing on abs at the moment...

I think your body fat is less than 22% and I wouldn't focus on losing weight first. I think you need to bulk some musclulature and see where that takes you. Then, you can cut some fat, if needed.
