Llama

Sounds like a super week, I love the fact that that's a 'hunting lodge.' Lol.
Clearly life is different when you´re an emperor!
You are planning & doing really well, LaMa :)
I´m trying... Feeling really good about things atm.
The berry treat seems really nice and healthy. It's great when you can eat a little extra of something that is really good for you and it's satisfying, too. Hope you had a lovely evening walk!
Somehow fruit is twice is good if you mix two kinds in one snack... A bowl of raspberries and mango pieces is better than a 25€ Michelin star dessert. Not to mention four times the volume for half the calories!
I always love how few calories the berries add. So delicious and feel like such a treat and yet hardly any calories...I guess kind of like the amzingness of greens too, but berries just feel so desserty that they seem like they should have more calories to them!
The fact that you get a lot of little ones makes it feel so fancy, too! Not as plebeian as an apple where you have to chop it up or chomp off pieces like a barbarian :p

Good day today. Food turned out different than planned since my time management was bad. So in the end I picked up a half-baguette for lunch, had chicken&rice for dinner, and I´m saving the chili for tomorrow. Walked a little over two hours and will probably go for an evening walk later.

Plan for tomorrow:
- Tofu/bean chili.
- Tempeh/eggplant/bell pepper/potato air-fry-up.
- Leek and mushroom egg bake.

Sounds to me like another very good day, LaMa & another healthy one lined up :)

Love the happy berry conversation! Food sounds good even though it didn't all go as planned. Nice to see you are still enjoying your air fryer, too!

Thanks Cate, Marsia, and Tru :)

I hope so! Almost time for family exercise and I hope to go for a short hike in the afternoon.
Nice to see you are still enjoying your air fryer, too!
I love that thing! It´s not a necessity by any stretch if you have a convection oven but when you live alone it´s lovely to have an alternative that heat up instantly and will crisp everything up even more. I never liked eggplant until I made it in the airfryer. My bell pepper comes out sweeter and smokier at the same time. My "fries" are delicious (even if they don´t taste quite like deep-fried ones). I use it several times a week (sometimes twice a day) and have been doing so for two years now.

Exercise done, family chat done, grocery shopping done, bit of food prep done, now just waiting for my lunch to be done. It smells delicious! Decided on where I want to hike this afternoon and what snack I want to pack... that´s basically all the prep a short hike needs, right?

EDIT: just realized all my storage boxes are currently in use  That´s when you know you´re doing well on food prep :D

Thanks guys! I did have a lovely hike, although it was a good bit shorter than I´d expected: 2 hours instead of 3. That´s ok though: I´m doing a longer hike tomorrow so it´s good to have fresh legs. Glorious weather, overwhelmingly green surroundings, and I learned a new route

Food has also been amazing today. Both the tempeh/potato/veggie mix and my leek/mushroom bake turned out lovely. Will probably go for a short evening walk in an hour or so.

Plan for tomorrow:
- Store-bought, super cheap, frozen-to-oven, unhealthy, ham and cheese baguette*. With a salad :rotflmao:
- Whatever catches my eye at whichever forest restaurant I land in around lunchtime
- Tofu chili? With a salad?

* Edit: just making fun of myself. There´s absolutely nothing wrong with having convenience food at times. I just find it funny that this is what I feel like having for breakfast. I love that I don´t feel bad about having that simple solution even though I´ve been on a roll for the past ten days or so. And that feels lovely and balanced.

Lovely about finding a new hiking route. Sounds like a really great day all round.
And wonderful about all the food prep done and taking up all your storage containers!

Thanks Tru, Liza, and Cate :grouphug:

Yay for new hiking routes & have fun tomorrow, which is now today in Oz xo
It was past midnight here as well but I was fast asleep when you posted. Now on a train to the start of today's trail. Liza, it's another new one! Feeling proud of myself for getting out of my comfort zone and trying new paths. Hope the socialist baker is up by this time because in the end I didn't feel like staying home long enough to heat up my frozen baguette.

Been walking for well over 2.5 hours and am having a rest by a little well. I can tell I haven't done any day hikes in a good while! It's a bit of an adventure too: the description I have of the route I want to take is... minimalist and sometimes outdated. The weather's gorgeous though and if I'm not very much mistaken I should reach a restaurant in a little over an hour. From there on I'll mostly be walking through vineyards and should have ample opportunity to get refreshments. That first Sommerspritzer is going to be so good...

It was glorious but now I´m happy to sit on the couch with my legs up! Walked almost 6 hours and visited D at the park on my way home. I ended up eating lunch late enough that my brain and/or stomach are confused and want me to keep eating ALL THE PROTEIN. It´s already 3 pm though, so I´ll have a big plate of fruit in an hour or so and have dinner as planned.

Wow 6 hours of walking! I bet that does feel good to have your feet up now!
What a wonderful sounding day. And good for you getting out of your comfort zone to try new routes!

Thanks, Liza! I was going to go for an evening walk as well (legs feel fine again) but then the laundry was done so I got held up and now it´s too late if I want to get to bed on time. Which I do... 🥱🥱😴

Nearly forgot! Must plan:

- Potato/tempeh/veggie thing
- Egg/veggie/cottage cheese pasta bake
- Some kind of wraps. I'm feeling pea mash and feta but am not sure if I want cheese twice in one day. If not I'll do lentils/mustard/leek

Must also go to the bank. And grocery shopping, almost out of eye-drops. Also beans. And Pepsi. As well as eggs to marinate for snacks.
Speaking of which: after dinner I was physically full but my brain really wanted me to keep eating (same as after lunch). So I had 4 corn cakes, 2 boiled eggs, 2 mini Babybel cheeses, a drizzle of sriracha, and some lettuce. Caloriewise it was fine because hike and it may even make it easier to stay the course tomorrow (I often binge after longer hikes) but it feels weird and uncomfortable to have such a full stomach.
At the same time it has been kind of weird to NOT feel overly full for the past 10 days or so. So... I don't know if this is a bad thing or a good thing but it is a thing that's diet related so it belongs here.

Wow, LaMa. 6 hours hiking! You deserved all the protein. Good thinking refuelling properly to avoid the temptation to overeat tomorrow. I used to be ravenous the day after golf, after walking for 4 hours mostly up & down hills.
Hope you sleep well & wake up refreshed xo

Thanks Cate! I thought I´d already posted here this morning but apparently not... I did some light shoulder and hip exercises this morning after getting up, then completely crashed. Had corn cakes with salami (plus sriracha, pickles and lettuce) for breakfast with watermelon for dessert. Now... I really ought to go out and do my grocery shopping but I´m afraid that if I do I´ll also get a big bucket of icecream and destroy it as soon as I get home. Not sure whether it´s because I´m tired physically, I´m running out of willpower (I don´t feel like I´ve been running on willpower so I don´t think that´s it), or if I somehow didn´t get enough calories in yesterday. Maybe it´s just Monday. Or maybe my binge demon is seeing a opportunity to regain control?

Aaand... apparently I didn´t post that one either. What happened since the above is that I sat for another half hour or longer, then decided I´d probably feel better if I at least prepped the pea mash. So I did. And then I felt confident enough to go to the grocery store. So I did. Bought a reasonable amount of chocolate. Went home, made the egg bake for lunch, rolled the mash wraps, washed some grapes to bring along, then sat down and ate my chocolate. I want to say I felt better before I even started eating the chocolate (to be precise: I felt better the moment I ate one of the grapes I was washing) but I think eating the chocolate was the right decision anyway. Don´t want to end up feeling restricted.

You did very well 😘
