Hi Liza-the biggest thing that help with my PF really was stretching my feet. I found some rather short (10-15) minute yoga videos on YouTube that were specific to people with PF. I also have found a brand of shoes that works very well for me, it is called Vionic. They make all kinds of shoes, not just athletic shoes.
My feet don't hurt when I do what can best be described as a slow jog, but unfortunately my cardio stamina is not where it was, so now that is more the problem. I also use an elliptical machine, which I think is a good way to get my cardio in without too much stress on my body, so I think getting a bike is a great idea! And it does sound like you are on the path to healing with your feet as well!
