Since I work and have a 5 months old to look after, I was thinking of walking an hour per day while daddy watches him. But there are some days where I would like to workout at home too, so I was thinking of getting a DVD. Anyone know what is the best DVD that helps burn fat and help to lose weight and tone at the same time?

The best one is one that you'll actually use. :) I think we could all recommend one or the other DVD, but if it doesn't interest you and you wind up not doing it, it would be useless.

So think about what you like to do. Do you like to dance? Yoga? Box? Pilates?

Pick something you enjoy (or think you'll enjoy) or that you'd like to learn and let us know. From there it will be easier to make suggestions. Otherwise there's too much out there to be able to know what would work for you! :)

Thanks. But what I really want is input from people in here. Like which DVD u guys use? and why? I dont want yoga, neither pilates, I want cardio + toning. I read about the Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred, but I still want to read people's answers! :)

a couple of years back i used to workout to the TAEBO dvd...it was my favorite at the time. billy blanks makes you feel like a million bucks. it's basically lots of punching and kicking in a semi-martial arts way......not for self defense but for a really good workout...i'd be sweating like crazy every single time. there's a whole variety of them but they are more classified as beginner, intermediate or advanced level so it's upto you to decide which fitness level your comfortable with....i think if you check on youtube there should be a few clips on there sort of like try before you buy. all the best xoxo

Lots of good advice because there are a number of excellent dvds but unless you use them they're no good for you. I've got the Billy Blanks and a Jillian Michaels, both really good but I've found that as I use walking as my major exercise method, using Leslie Sansone dvds to supplement my normal walking which is an hour daily for the last month or so, is easier. It adds in hand weights and uses your arms which I don't do when walking outside!

I also use the Wii Fit when circumstances force me to stay at home to exercise. But the Walk Away the Pounds 3 Mile walk is my preferred alternative.

I have had great success with Power 90. I have many workout DVDs and Power 90 continues to be my favorite. Six days a week, you switch between cardio and strength training. The workouts are simple, but effective.

The problem I always had with Power 90 was actually getting through the whole 90 "round" without getting bored. But I have to admit, if you go to the BeachBody forum (the company that makes the workouts), you'll see people really love this workout and have gotten great results.

It's also the kind of workout that is perfect to use to get back into working out. I would guess, for most people, after doing P90 for three months, you would be ready to move on to more advanced workouts.

As others have suggested, I am also a huge fan of Leslie Sansone. Her the moves in her workouts are easy to master. Lately, she's put out a lot of challenging workouts. So, the moves may be simple, but the workouts are effective.

I like Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred and her newest DVDs. Her older workouts aren't that great. Also, the very first Biggest Loser workout is a good.

But, by far, I highly recommend Power 90.
