Gastric Balloon -(heliosphere) What do you think?

Hello All!

I am getting ready to make the final steps in getting a gastric balloon and wanted to hear about your experiences and any that you may know of that you want to share. I have lost a lot of weight on my own and I just need to get the final pounds off and have heard great success going this route. I have also read about some pretty awful side effects as well.

I hope that some of my fellow Canadians to help me with the big decision.

Are you in Quebec? I am considering going there to get this done myself.
 
Gastrib balloon

So ... I'm in the final stages of making my decision to have the gatric ballon inserted. Funny enough i live 2 mins from a clinic in mississauga that performs the procedure. It is a lifestyle change and a big investment.

Question....
Does anyone have any regrets would they do it all over again if they had too?

lol, I also live 2 min away from that clinic in Mississauga

I haven't had that surgery done myself. But I do know people who have had various surgery's done. Generally, they lose weight at the beginning, but then gain it back within a few years. I've seen some people with it done eat a thanks giving dinner, then excuse themselves to go throw up, everyone could hear her throwing up and I would have to think she would have found it embarrassing. Plus she is still super fat.

My Mom had the lap band, she lost 70 pounds, now she has gained it all back.

Sometimes the surgery does work for some people. But since it works for some and not for others, It makes me think its not the surgery that is working, its the people's own mindset. The determined ones, who eat right after the surgery are the successful ones. So why not have yourself an operation, save thousands of dollars, and just eat right and use your determination now.

Another way of saying it, its not guaranteed to work, you have to eat right after the operation for it to work. So again, why not just start eating right now?

All in all, I'm pretty against these operations. But that is my personal preference. Each to their own though, I'm not passing judgement on anyone who wants to get it done. And anyone that gets it done, I sincerely wish you all the best.
