I started the couch To 5k program and just completed my first race this weekend. I'm a 40-ish, 6' male, 265lbs and finished in 38 mins!
I've got a long way to go with my fitness goals- but the greatest thing I've accomplished this summer is to just be able to set out and job for an hour and not have my mind tell me it's time to stop! I've ran up to 6 miles, but my pace is very slow... And I typically try not to walk. In my 5k race, I really pushed my self to finish in that time of 38:00- so I feel like I need to work more on my pace than to be worrying about distance.
Anyone's thoughts on that?
I have ran over 100 miles this summer, and lost 20 lbs- I'm just glad to be able to get out there and get my mind off of other things!
