Basically, I'm looking to lose 30 lbs by Halloween. (not because I'm trying to fit into a slinky outfit, just because I know I can do it in that amount of time.)
Anyway, I put together a workout regime for myself, and I wanted other peoples opinions. Is it too much? I don't want to hurt myself, but I'm also pretty desperate to lose this weight. I'm pretty fit, and have good cardio (half an hour on the elliptical at 6mph gets me energized, not exhausted), but Ive got an awful spare tire.
Im spending the next month in my home-town of Johnson City, TN (where Ill be on Phase 1 of the South Beach diet for 2/3 weeks, then Weight-Watchers), and then the month after that in Houston, TX with my mother (still Weight-Watchers).
So, my plans for the month in TN:
Do one of my yoga tapes each morning, (weight-loss, abs, power, etc. Whatever I'm in the mood for. Ive got like 7 tapes)
Jiu-jitsu from 5-7 Wed, Fri, Sun
Capoeira from 7-9 Tues-Sun
MMA workout at 6:00 Tues+Thurs
Do my stress-relief/relaxation yoga tape before bed (very low key and relaxing. Lots of stretching and breathing, very few poses)
(I already do this workout when I'm at home, just minus the yoga-tapes and plus a diet. Yes, I'm in two different martial arts. My diet was just so bad that I still managed to gain weight)
My month in Houston will be far more intense. That will be my "all my friends are in a different state and my mother is at work, so I don't have anything to do except work out" month.
Mon/Fri:
Walk to the Ballys (15-30 minute walk) in the morning before it gets too hot, do 30 minutes of cardio on the elliptical then hit the pool for 30 minutes. Walk home.
When Mom gets back from work at 6-ish, well go to a yoga class at Ballys then do another half hour of cardio (Ill do the bike instead of the elliptical)
Tues/Thurs:
Walk to Ballys, do 30-45 minutes of weight machines, alternating between abs, upper arms and thighs (my target areas), then do 15-30 minutes in the pool. Walk home.
When Mom gets home, well either do two yoga tapes, or hit the gym for more cardio (light for me. I might take a leisurely stroll on the bike)
Wednesdays and the weekends are my days off to heal and recuperate.
So, how does that sound? I dont think its too much, but then again, I am getting fairly desperate, and might be trying to overdo it. Lemme now!
Thanks!
