I thought it would be good to start this to help each other when them holiday temptations hit and us and the dealing with the family and friends who will be trying so hard to get us to cheat!:D:D

Good idea! My husband asked me last night if I wanted to cook or if I wanted to order holiday dinner from Honey Baked Ham. (Neither one of us have any family so it's much easier for us I think.) I told him I didn't know yet, but there are to be NO COOKIES, CAKES, PIES or anything of the like. Of couse he gave me a "look" but he needs to lose about 75 pounds himself...so I was really being serious in a kinda smarty little way. ;)

I'm in. My family has issues with cooking during the holidays. You'd think they were feeding an army. I don't do thankgiving period so thats not the hard part for me, the hard part is the entire month of december and half of january. I've been doing to good to let the holidays screw things up for me!

Often on holidays you do a lot of walking and exercise so eating slightly more than you should wouldnt hurt. You wouldnt lose nore gain, which is ok for like a 2 week holiday.

sweet, my idea of healthy eating during the holidays is pre-planning, the first big meal of the season is thanksgiving (if you can get over the halloween candy!) maybe we could all provide a healthy meal description of our own so that people come up with healthy ideas that perhaps stay at a low calorie count. remember-you should eat other meals too during those big dinner days-so as to not starve for the final big meal (which usually means eat everything in site).

Heheheheh you all have awsome ideas I think this thread will help a lot! Mal we have to think on preventing you from beating up sis lol So I am sure we can come up with suggestions! It just seems the stress of the holidays overwhelm sometimes so maybe we can all work together like you all have said and then also vent in here over it as well lol! 1st priority keep my daughters halloween candy with her daddy heheheh no really hoping I wont be tempted!

there was an interesting article on spark people recently on that - and basically the dieticians said - let the kid gorge on the candy for a set amount of days... pick an amount of days - 3 - 5... then throw it out... they said in thelong run, it's better for hteir teeth because they aren't eating candy over a long period of time.. and the tempatation of having it around is no longer there...

Im going to Egypt in Feb, best time to go as i remember how cold and depressing the UK was last Jan/Feb/March. By which time i MUST have lost a stone. Maybe a stone and a half more. So i guess dieting wont apply to be when im there, lol.
