before and during (80 pounds lost)** NEW PHOTOS

i officially started loosing weight on may 5th. here is my first thread:

http://weight-loss.fitness.com/newcomers/40898-off-good-start.html

well, its july first now and i have dropped 30 pounds so far. now, i have lost more than that... in february while in australia i was around 285. when i "officially" started this lifestyle change i was 269.

i am now 239. and feeling GREAT!!!

i have started body building as i have this fear of getting "skinny", and figured i may as well loose fat AND gain muscle.

i climbed one of the mountains behind town (2500 vertical ft) in 1 hour and 8 minutes. 6 weeks ago the same climb took 2 hours and 10 minutes. i was pretty psyched about that!!!

my wife went back to australia to work for 3 months and she's due back at the end of september. i can't imagine what i'll look like when she gets home. shes always been fit and healthy so shes very excited about my new change.

here is a before photo while in AU:

Nice job. What do you think has been the single most important thing you have done to lose weight so far?

Nice job sitkashooter - you look like you have lost a lot more than 30lbs. You look great. You will reach you goal weigh of 190 no problem if you keep this up. Trust me it will all be worth it. How tall are you????

Congratulations!!

Your progress is truly inspirational and I hope to be able to follow in your steps towards my own progress... I'm at 262-265 lbs at the moment... I desperately need to get on track with my fitness.

for me, the key to loosing weight is controlling my food. i have been swimming laps off and on (sometimes 4 months at a time, like 3 days a week) for the last 3 years. but i didn't loose because i just ate more as i worked harder.

counting calories along with daily exercise is really working.

i am 5'10"

my goal of 190 is just an estimate. i don't really know what my goal weight is, but part of my exercise routine is weight training 3 days a week. that said, my final goal is to get to "abs"... not so much a certain weight.

another thing, i actually lost more than 30 pounds... its just that when i officially started loosing weight i had already lost 15 pounds. that first photo is me at 285.

down around 208 right now. before the holidays i was around 202-204, but then out gym was shut down and i was stuck with running!!! was hard to keep up with during the dark alaskan december and january.

gym is up an running again and i'm back on track. these photos are from a coupla months ago:

thanks everyone! its been an awesome journey... one that will continue as a lifestyle for good.

its surprisingly shocking to look at my before photos now!

anyway, i still have another 30 or so left to loose. don't really know actually... planning on being around 180-185 by may... hopefully may 5, as that will have been a year since i officially started. we'll see how it goes.

Awesome job! I bet your wife was so surprised when she came back! She probably kept looking around for her husband lol

she was shocked and kind of flustered as she felt like she was meeting a whole different person... it was fun and exciting for us both!!!
