Are fitness mags a decent investment?

some of the info is really vague but in saying that i wouldnt say they are a waste of money. Mens health doesnt really do it for me to much "how can i get better at sex" and not enough "how can I get better at squats" the only thing I have really found them useful for is the interviews with bodybuilders and such.

They're OK, so long as you remember that a lot of what is written is opinion and not always fact. They have to sell copies after all so they're gonna run features on how to get abs in 2 weeks and garbage of that type

hahha NBS! I was going to say, and still will....
"it is better than reading about celebrities, and you can learn some decent stuff about sex."

I like my fitness because it enhances my sex life greatly! i realuize this is not tantric.com but many peeps are here for a better body, to have a better sex life, and well, performance "keeps" an active sex life!

If you can get through the million ad's sometimes you can find some informative information however I'd rather invest my money into a good book.

i enjoy mens health :)

I find it a pretty interesting read, i remember a while back there was a really great article on muscle.

You can always find at least one useful bit of advice buried in the hundreds of ads. I think they're worth buying every now and than. Sure you can look online for articles but like many have said, you may miss out on the top 10 ways to get a workout while having sex.

Some are, some aren't

I subscribe to Men's Health, not just for the sex articles, but also because they usually have different exercises or variations on exercises that may change my workout from getting too boring. It's just what you want out of it.

Do we still need the support of the magazines related to the fitness, when we have the power to look for information regarding this from the whole world then is there any need to invest in them. Its a different thing whether these magazines have something that can help us or not. Having the power of internet we can obviously look for the best possible alternatives nowadays. As I said I too got a lot of informations concerning the and I got plenty of answers from the net alone. So for me at least investing in magazines are a sheer waste of money.

Yeah, you can get all of what's in magazines, and more, online, but sometimes, it's just nice to actually sit and read something that isn't on a glowing screen.

You do have to weed through all the BS on any magazine, and pay attention to who wrote it, what their credentials are, and what sources are listed. If I'm not mistaken, don't Lou Schuler and Alwyn Cosgrove write for some men's fitness mags? ---So, it's not all crap.

The fact of the matter is everyone wants to out online these days, whether it has to with nutrition, or fitness, that it's easy to get completely lost and read bad information from some young kid who decided to write a blog about the top ten ways to lose weight. At least in a magazine you can focus on what's there in front of you and once you read that final page you can move on. :boxing_smiley:
