I've come to the conclusion a gym workout is not for me. Its so hard to force myself to go and when I'm there I don't like it till I'm done (then like everyone else I feel great). This wouldn't be so bad if I did go atleast 3x a week, but I don't.
I started doing some cardio and strength training exercises at home, and since I started I've kept to it without any effort. I look forward to alot of the exercises which keeps me doing the ones I don't look so forward to. However, I know I really do need more than what I'm doing.
I am considering taking up Mauy Thai. Its thai kick boxing. There is a gym around the corner from my house and they offer a 30 day free trial (where you can attend any of their classes, they also have jui jitsui and kettle bells and lots of stuff). I'm only interested in the mauy thai but I might check out the kettle bells cause I've heard its a great workout.
If I did one to 2 days a week of the mauy thai (assuming my current gym fees of 50/month covers 1 or 2 days a week, I dont know the costs yet) It would be perfect with my current plan. I do so much better with set things and this would be alot more fun than running on a treadmill.
So anyone do kick boxing? A friend of a friend does mauy thai and he said its the most intense work-out he's ever done, but I'm looking to maybe hear from someone who started out at the higher end of the scale to see if its manageable.
