Starting out, you can really do whatever you want to do, so long as it's within your capabilities and doesn't cause injury. So if you want to run, run. If you want to swim, swim. If you want to lift weights, lifts weights. The only concession I'd make is ease into things and don't take on too much at once.

As for your neck and joint issues, without further information I can't give any specific advice, but postural correction training (which is done in the form of strategically combined strength training and flexibility training) could be very helpful for you. It's not as simple as just lift weights and stretch, though, as you'd need to assess what's tight, what's weak etc and build a program around balancing everything out, so again I can't give any specific recommendations. It may be worth speaking to a professional (eg physiotherapist, exercise physiologist) to get that sorted out.

tnq for ur reply.
