10 Day muscle Recovery for Competition

Hi All,

2 Weeks ago i pulled, what seemed to be a hammy although it was situated really low (just above the knee) on the left hand side of my left leg. Satrious muscle (i think).

Anyway i have a competition in 10 days and until now i thought it was recovering, the blood in my calf was disappearing, hardly any pain on a big strectch until i start practicing and on the first go it create a large amount of pain. it has now gone again with slight soreness on a strectch. H

How can i get to 80% In 10 Days?

Im streching, apply heat packs... any other hints! otherwise its 6 months down the drain!
 
RICE - rest, ice (inside the first 24-48 hours of injury), compression, and elevation.

You really should do all you can to stay off it though. If you are dead-set on competing, then I'd go see a doc for a better diagnosis.
 
As you've been having problems for a whole two weeks, you could also be having some IT band issues that are presenting themselves in the location you describe.
