Title:
Slim FastMy 14 year old daughter drinks 1 can of slim fast in the morning for breakfast. She also exercises for at least 30 minuntes a day and driks plenty of water. I was wondering if maybe the slim fast drink is ok for her. Does anybody know if Slim fast is ok for her to drink?

Slim fast should be safe for any age. But it doesn't look like your daughter is eatting enough, especially since she is active. I am no expert on youth nutrition, but I know that this is a very important development stage during her life and she does not want to risk this by not eatting correctly. I would adivse going to see a doctor or dietician (sp?) on healthy eattign habits for your daughter.

do you think maybe if my daughter added more fruits, vegtables or other foods from the food pyramid to her diet she would be eating enough?

I don't believe in the food pyramid and I don't follow it, but remember that eatting foods with fat does not necessarily cause you to gain weight. You gain weight if you consume more calories that burnt calories. There is good fat and bad fat. Bad fat is saturated, good is polunsaturated and monosaturated. Carbs also have their bad points and good points. I don't know how much she eats in those other meals she eats, but the slimfast has around 220 calories, mostly sugar. Make sure she is eatting enough food and is not harming herself.
