Title: Cardio First? For How Long

My question is about cardio workouts. I need to lose about 35lbs and I have been working out for about 3 months and only doing 35 minutes on the eliptical (sp?) and then 200 crunches. I want to work with weights, but I have been told to do cardio first to lose the "initial weight." How much longer should I follow this regime? My other question is how in the world am I going to lose my lower stomach? Help!

    dont listen to whoever is telling you to "wait" to do strength training, you dont need to, start at it...and if you do both workouts in one day, strength train then go do cardio, it burns more calories..and as far as doing 200 crunches...um DONT BOTHER>....its quality not quantity..if yur doing 200 it sounds like your just whipping throught them ...you need to do each crunch slowly and hard, with perfect form and your lower back into the floor, then do about 3 sets of 20..
