Title: Carbs.!!! I want to if having carbohydrates in my diet is a BAD thing or is a little ok?? My boyfriend tells me that zero carbs is the best way, but i find myself sleepy and w/o energy... Carbohydrates are your body's best source of energy. It's better at using them for energy than it is at using Fat or Protein. 55-65% of your overall food intake should be from Carbs. Low-carb diets are just, wrong... big myth there. You need a balance between Carbs, Protein, and Fat. Lots of Carbs- Potatoes, Pastas, Whole wheat breads, Oatmeal- lots of Protein- Chicken breast, Turkey breast, Any lean meats, Egg whites, Fish- and limited Fat, but not too limited. Keep up with an intense routine of heavy exercise, along with a good diet, and you'll see results in no time. Carbs are very good, exept in certain situations. Cut way back on Carbs 2-3 HOURS BEFORE BED. Any other time, and you need tons. Eating them 2-3 hours before bed at a time when you're not very active is bad, because since most people don't get alot of activity during that time, plus your Metabolism slows down the later the day goes, they don't need the energy, so it ends up stored as fat. But remember, the rest of the day, CARBS ARE YOUR FRIEND. BUT, make sure to stay away from Simple sugars (Usually found in Chocolates, Sweets, Cookies, etc...)
