Title: CHEATING ON YOUR DIET

is it really okay to cheat on your diet one day a week? some ppl say you should allow yourself, but i don't think it sounds very beneficial-i'd like to give myself one day a week to treat myself, but i'd just go out of control and take advantage of all the sweets and junk food

That is why you should take a day to reward yourself. First of all, in my opinion there should be no such thing as a "diet". If you diet, lose weight and attain your goal. What are you going to do, go back to your old bad habits?? No, a diet should be a permanent change to better your life. Once you've made that step, the rest should be easy. All you have to do is practice some self control. If you see some progress in achieving your goal, reward yourself with a small treat. But if you never "cheat" and you never reward your achievements, then your "diet" will become a negative thing and you will tire of it quickly, then who knows what will happen. Add some exercise into your daily routine, and even when you do cheat you can take comfort in the fact that your exercise is helping to burn it off.
