i have been surfing the net, and was wanting advice on the best weight loss diet and a good workout plan to follow with cardios and weights
i am 40 years old 5 4 weigh 150 now

    Simply put: If energy in is greater that energy out, you will gain weight. If energy in is less than energy out, you will lose weight. If energy in is the same as energy out, you will maintain your current weight. There are no magical diet or exercise plans. There are several basic principles concerning weight loss and exercise that need to be learned and practiced. A major obstacle for personal change is what we hear about daily. Some is accurate but most is not. Read scientific journals for information. Magazines/media have a stake in what they say about a product, so obviously they are going to slant thier reviews. Learn the principles and stick with them. Change will come over time. Good luck

    I BELIEVE, "D", that this person was simply looking for a regimen, not a "magical diet and weight loss plan". You do need some type of plan to follow, even with the basic principles.

    Kalie, I'd suggest joining your local gym, if you can. A personal trainer their will be able to set you up on a program that's best for you, based on your height, weight, current fitness level, etc...
