Title: ASK EXPERT -am I Doing Right?

I AM 5 FEET 6 INCHES TALL AND WEIGH 155 POUNDS MY GOAL IS TO REACH AROUND 140 POUNDS. I HAVE 3 KIDS AND BECAUSE OF THAT I GAINED WEIGHT.


I DO EXERCISE EVERYDAY THAT IS 40 MIN-RIDE STATIONERY BIKE AND 20 MIN-WALKING FAST/ 5 DAYS A WEEK IN MORNING WITHOUT EATING ANYTHING.
I DO FLOOR EXERCISES AND EVEN LIFT WEIGHT ABOUT 3-REP/30 TIMES AND EVEN SOME SIMPLE EXERCISE LIKE SHOULDERS ARMS AND CRUNCHES FOR ABS AND TONE MY BUTT - THIGHS AND HIPS 4 DAYS A WEEK.
I EAT ONE TIME MEAL[ LOW FAT MEAL ] AROUND 5 IN EVENING AND EVEN 2 SERVINGS OF FRUIT WHICH IS USUALLY BANANA AND APPLES IN SNACK TIME AND IN MORNING I DRINK SLIM-FAST SHAKE WHICH HAS 24 GRAM CARB AND PROTEIN - 5 GRAMS AND SUGAR 15 GRAMS.
AGAIN AT 8 AT NIGHT I ONLY DRINK PLAIN FAT FREE MILK.
MY MEAL HAS LESS CARBS
I HAVE A QUESTION FROM THE FITNESS EXPERT , AM I RIGHT THE WAY I DO EXERCISE AND EVEN EATING FOOD?
SECONDLY HOW MUCH ATLEAST MINIMUM TOTAL CARBS [ PLEASE LET ME KNOW IN GRAMS ] WE SHOULD EAT IN A WHOLE DAY AND HOW MUCH PROTIEN TOOOO ,PLEASE IN GRAMS ONLY.
I REALLY WANT TO REDUCE MY WEIGHT AND MY BODY FAT .
I REALLY APPRECIATE FOR THIS HELP

      There is no set amount you should have each day... and no, I don't believe Slim Fast is a good way to lose weight...

      The Cardio's fine... reducing fat in your diet is fine... Fruit for snacks is fine (Although I would suggest replacing the Banana for something else)... try for 6 small meals per day... forget about Slim Fast. Make sure you're working INTENSELY when you go to the gym... light exercise doesn't help much.

        I agree with Adrien. Slim Fast has way too much sugar. Try replacing that with protein shakes. The brand Designer has really good tasting ones. They are low in sugar and carbs, but high in protein. Fruit is also high in sugar, so try replacing the banana with raw veggies. Carrots and broccoli are good. Veggies give you the good carbs your body needs for energy.I'm not an expert, but I work in a gym and I speak from experience. I used to be overweight and I just want to share the things that have helped me!

          kelly do you know any protien shakes which are good , which has less carbs and sugar and high protien.

            Raveena, Go to GNC or any health food store, buy the powdered shake by the brand Designer. (chocolate and vanilla praline are best tasting) Also, pick up one of those shaker cups they sell for, like, 5 bucks. This helps you measure. The best mix is 2 scoops of powder with 12 ounces of milk. I use 1% milk. I also have a hand held blender that makes it clump-free, but Designer is supposed to be clump resistant, anyways, so shaking it just may do the trick. Protein shakes are best for breakfast, and after a workout. Protein helps your muscles recover so there is less soreness after weight training.
