Raveena, You do want stronger muscles for several reasons: one, stronger muscles help improve your balance and posture, also decreases your risk of injury while lifting, etc. wouldn't you want to lift your children safely and not worry about back injuries? Two, the more lean muscle your body develops, the more fat you burn all together. Weight training will also help tone your muscles. Wouldn't you just love those sexy arms that Madonna and Jennifer Aniston flaunt?? Women are not meant to have big bulky muscles like body builders, who take steroids to get that way. Joining a gym is a good idea, not because I work at one, but because the atmosphere gives you that extra motivation to work harder!! Also, training at home is usually not enough. You have weights at home?? What happens when that becomes too easy for you?? Your body will plateau, which means, you won't lose any more weight becuase your body needs that challenge. I hope I explained that right.Most fitness centers have daycare available for a small fee, so no more excuses!!! ;-) As far as protein goes, protein will help "recover" your muscles so whether you are weight training, or running a marathon on the treadmill, your muscles will not be as sore. Women are so afraid to pick up weights because they think they will look like a man. WRONG! I work my butt off at the gym lifting weights and now have shapely arms and legs, not big huge muscles and I really try and use heavy weights, so do not be afraid to lift weights because you won't look like a man. I hope this information will help you out. It is very hard to get motivated, but once you get started it is very addicting and you will soon look forward to going just because it is a good stress reliever and also you will begin to enjoy the rewards of weight training and exercise!!
