Title: Metabolite i take metabolite tablets everyday but instead of 6 tablets i take 4 in a day . i am confused now , in one of your discussion board it is written in energy drink question about ephedra or [ma huang ]is not good and is of caffeine. i take this tablets called metabolite in which this thing contians [ephedra ] and outside in the fronthead of the bottle it is written caffeine free. what is ephedra and why is it bad can you let me know , if ephedra contians caffeine then why it is written caffeine free on the bottle? and is it good to take this metabolite tablets , and how safe or bad is this for health? Name: henna Date: Jun. 20th, 2001 Title: Re: Metabolite Ephedra does not contain caffeine, but alot of those diet pills contain an ephedra/caffeine stack which is a dosage of both ingredients. Ephedra is said to speed up metabolism and in doing this, it speeds up your heart rate, making it pretty dangerous if taken over long periods of time. If you have any side effects such as heart palputations or irregular heartbeat, don't ignore them!! Hope that helped!! I do not take it. It might be a good idea to find all the information you can on it before you continue to take it. It only temporarily speeds up your heartrate...doesn't do a thing for your metabolism.
