Carbs are the main source of energy for cells. Protein and fat can also be used as energy, but they must undergo a process that makes them similar to glucose. Your body needs energy to maintain normal bodily functions and this increases with exercise. So, yes, you should be eatting carbs, alot infact, if you want to gain muscle. 55-65% of your total calorie intake should be from carbs.
