Title:
Carbohydrate/protein/calorie/fat Ratiohelp I am trying to lose just ten more pounds, I tried the low carbohydrate diet but I had some freaky side effects..so I am trying to do the balanced diet but I have heard that even on a 1200 calorie per day diet, you need to keep your carbohydrate below 100 per day. Any truth to this???

Low carb/high protein diets are not only dangerous but they cause you to lose muscle as well as much needed water. Try to read the nutrition facts on the back on boxes and if there is alot of sugar or the carbohydrates are especailly high, there's a good chance you need to steer clear, or eat is very small quantities. On a 2400 calorie per day diet (which means you need to be expending atleast this many calories through exercise) you need 300g of carbohydrates...but look for the amount of sugar...and most importantly, eat whole grain breads, whole wheat pasta and brown rice..also eat potatoes in moderation.
