Title: Question ...

Hi, I have a question. I've never really "watched what I ate", because I never really cared too much about nutrition. I was never "fat" because I was always healthy and active, either playing sports, or whatever, right?

Anyway, now that I'm working out more and becoming more serious about having "the perfect body" I was wondering what i should do concerning my eating abilities. I mean, what foods should I NOT eat, and what foods I SHOULD eat, and please don't say "high carbs, low fats" cuz I really don't know what that means. Some examples would be fine. Thanks a WHOLE lot! Bye ...

Just read the lables of your food to find out it's nutritional value... it's not that complicated... really...

Low fat, low sugar, high carb, high protein. Some examples of meals would be...

1 - Bagel with low fat cottage cheese (Cottage Cheese=Protein, Bagel=Carbohydrates)

2 - Spaghetti (In small amounts, because it's high in Calories)

3 - Egg white, Chicken, or Tuna Sandwhich (Egg white, Chicken or Tuna=Protein, Whole Wheat Bread=Carbohydrates)

    4 - Egg Whites and Oatmeal (Egg whites=Protein, Oatmeal=Carbohydrates)

You can make meals out of lots of things, just look on the side of the box of most foods to find it's nutritional value.

I totally understand what you're getting at, but OK, look ...

I look on the labels of such foods as Tuna Fish and Green Beans ... And I see a whole lot of stats ... And where it says Total Carb.=0g on the Tuna Fish and Total Carb.=4g on the Green Beans, that OBVIOUSLY means that Green Beans has more Carb. then Tuna Fish ... but heh, what numbers am I looking for?

You get what I'm saying? I don't know what to look for ... Right now I am drinking nothing but water and eating in moderation what I would normally eat, without any sweets and snacks on the side.

I asked my mom to buy more fruits and vegetables ... And she looked at me and said "What for?" And I said "Because I wanna try eating healthier from now on" "And she said "You don't need to go on a diet, you don't need to lose weight ... It's not healthy" I told her I wasn't trying to lose weight, just to eat healthier for about two months and see what could happen, I mean, it couldn't hurt, right? That's what I told her ... And I dont know why I'm saying this ... Haha ... Bye!

        That's sad. Really sad.

Your mom should be extremely proud of you for wanting a healthier lifestyle... that makes me really mad that she said that. She thinks you're going on one of those unhealthy "fad" diets, which you're not. You need to eat healthy to workout, if you don't eat healthy while you workout, you'll damage your body.

You need alot more than fruits and vegetables though... they don't have barely any Protein, and your body needs Protein almost as much as it needs Carbs. Meat has lots of Protein.

As for the number, there's no certain number that you're looking for. Anything under 10 would be considered a low amount, 10-20 would be a moderate amount, and anything above 20 would be considered quite a bit.
