How many grams of protein should an 19 year old boy consume to notice an increase in muscle mass? How should he go about taking this protein? What should his diet be?

    Hello Steve,

    I take 100% whey protein within one hour about 2-3 times/week after a really hard workout. This will build and maintain your muscle mass. If you study whey protein, you will find it is not harmful at all. I mix a huge scoop with 8oz of water and then drink two-16oz glasses of skim milk after. I would buy a drink mixer and leave it on the counter at all times as a reminder to take the protein when you are done with hard workouts...i don't take it after just cardio exercise, I would say that I look pretty good with where my muscle mass is at..the reflection in the mirror is my own incentive to keep going. fat/lean, the choice is easy. I would recommend to you Optimum Nutrition brand. Shop around, GNC is expensive, many places have it. Good luck to you, I know if I can succeed, you surely can..e-mail directly anytime.

    I would like to loose 7kgs./15.4lbs. & am not being able to despite the fact that I have been very careful with my diet ie, eating only 1/2 a bowl of cornflakes, 1 cup of tea & 1 cup of coffee without any sugar for breakfast - a big bowl of yogurt made of double toned milk, sprouts/boiled veg.'s & salad/fruit for lunch & natural soup, chicken sausages & steamed veg.'s for dinner.My intake of water is 2-3 litres a day. I work out at a gym for 30 - 45 mins. on the treadmill at 6.5mph at an incline of 5 - 7 - running for 6-7 mins flat, cycle for 15-20 mins. Then I finish off with floor exercises.
    I have not lost a single lb./inch so please help me asap.
