Title: Supplements

Some supplements such as Metabolife will speed up a person's metabolism, therefore that person can lose weight and such. I'm wondering if it can also screw up your metabolism and make it slower than normal if the person who takes it decides not to take it anymore.

Good question! Best thing to do is stay away from Metabolife, it's not good for anyone.

    Title: Re: Supplements

Metabolife is an ephedrenal product, kinda like Hydroxycut, or Xenadrine. They're a class of products called E/C/A Stacks, or thermogenics. They use ephedrine, or ehpedrenal extracts to speed up the fat-burning process in the body, and if used *correctly*, they can be a safe way to lose extra fat. For people who think ephedrenal use is dangerous, most of the adverse reaction reports (listed on the FDA website), were due to overuse, abuse, and previous medical conditions. One person, who suffered a brasin hemmorage, had been using about 120mg of ephedrenals for a period of 12 weeks straight. The highest recommended dosage (also on the FDA site) is, I believe, 80mg per day for a period of not more than 6 weeks. I have completed 2 cycles with ephedrenals, have lost massive amounts of fat from my body, and have not suffered at all. I use a '4-weeks on/2-weeks off' cycle, which allows me time to clean the toxins out of my system (much like the toxins created from protein use). If you have any further questions, feel free to let me know.

I have used Xenadrine but have not noticed any significant differences. I am not overweight but was looking for an energy booster and a way to lose that little bit of "baby fat" left over from my pregnancy. I was only taking 1 a day over about a 4 - 6 week period. Any suggestions?
