Hi,
I hate to burst your bubble but some women (like me) do not lose weight when they quit nursing. It took me one full year to lose the weight and that was exercising 3-4 times per week! The best way is to fill yourself with lots of veggies and whole grains and pure proteins (lean meat). That way, you'll be full but not consuming too many fat grams.
Once the weight loss started, all of my weightlifting efforts paid off and I had muscle tone underneath the fat! So chin up and start exercising like walking with your little one.
