Found this info online on several different websites.

In the first ever study of the energy cost of chewing gum, researchers found chewing gum will burn an additional 11 Cal/hr compared to not chewing gum.
They noted that if the individual chewed a non-caloric gum during normal waking hours and if the individual's energy balance did not change, that individual could lose about 11 lbs of body fat in a year.

Hey! I believe any sugar-free gum is also calorie free. Trident makes one!

Be Careful! Sugar-free does NOT mean calorie-free..... Trident has calories and so do all the others I have checked so far.....in fact, I have yet to find a calorie-free gum... Sugar-free Bubble Yum has 10 calories (not a big deal) but if you are like me and tend to go throught the pack in a few hours that is 100 calories before you know it...
Anyhow...if anyone does actually locate a 0 calorie gum I would be interested as well!

If chewing gum burns 11 calories in an hour, I don't think you have to worry about the little amount of calories in sugar free chewing gum. You burn the calories that they have by chewing it. My Trident Advantage gum has 5 Calories for 2 pieces. The pack holds 12 pieces - that's only 30 calories for the whole pack. Most people don't chew that much gum in one day.
