Title: Diet Cycling Hello all, I've been working on trying to find out if diet cycling is a good idea. What I mean by cycling is choosing a diet for a term that is low in fat, and then a different diet for a term that is higher in fat. The idea behind it would be to combine it with periods of body fat loss and muscle gain. I've got a pretty good daily regimen of foods already picked out for this cycling thing, I'm just wondering how well it will work, or if anyone out there has specific questions or comments that might be of use. Feel free to email me if you'd like a copy of the diet as well. Name: Ethan Date: Apr. 20th, 2001 Title: Re: Diet Cycling Diet cycling is a good idea. Depending on what your short term goals are, a good diet will help. Ie. I just changed my diet from a bulking to a cutting diet (for summer). But, when you change to a fat loss diet, it is better to gradually reduce the amount of calories, not do it all at once. This will ensure that you won't lose any muscle, as long as you don't lower calories to much. If your looking to lose fat, without losing much muscle, i would suggest a zig-zag diet. For example, say it's a 12 week diet... monday-wensday are very-low carbs, thurs. and fri. are high carbs, sat. and sun. are moderate. while continuing a high protein diet, and keeping up with your cardio. I've used this diet several times before shows and it always seems to work for me.
