Title: Nutrition Question This summer, I'm going to be spending 5 hours a day playing tennis, followed by an hour of weightlifting. What nutrients should I try to load up on in my break between tennis and lifting, and then after lifting. Should I consider any supplements? Thanks Name: Bob Date: Apr. 19th, 2001 Title: Re: Nutrition Question Bob, I also workout every day, doing a combination of free weights and running or weights and treadmill (if the weather is bad and I can't run). I swear by nutritional supplements and eating well. I couldn't do the kind of workouts I do without supplementation. I have found that it is important to take a joint formula (for weight trainers this is vital), a Super Food for protein and energy, the best quality Vitamins, and being a woman I also take Calcium. In keeping my weight trim and body really healthy, I also am a strong proponent of Digestive Enzymes. It is one of the most important things we can do for our bodies is to take these. I eat carefully but I also enjoy food and don't want to be avoiding things I really enjoy. I find that the nutritional products I'm on allow me to live with optimum health and energy. I have found that I can't do this kind of workout WITHOUT taking nutritional supplements and get the maximum benefit. First off for weight training I swear by a joint formula. Every day I take a Super Food, the best quality Vitamins available and Digestive Enzymes (without these I couldn't keep my weight in check and my body toned and hyper-fit). Being a woman I also take Calcium, which is really important for osteo issues. For whatever it's worth, I don't believe that we can rely totally on the natural food source to provide all of the nutrients, minerals, enzymes, etc. we NEED to be healthy and fit. Especially those of us working out because we build up toxins in our body from hard workouts. Be in touch if you want to chat some more.
