Title:
Sugars To Fats
I keep hearing reports that sugars change to fat once digested into our system. Is this true? Are they not stored as glycogen and used to create energy? any more info?

You are correct.. But sugar,
just like anything else, will
be stored as fat if it is not
used by the body. This
whole carb/sugar paranoia
is unfounded. It comes
down to too many calories
will equal stored energy(i.e.
FAT)

What happens to sugars is a little more complicated that this.
What happens to sugars depends on many things:
1) How much sugar;
2) How active you are, overall;
3) What other foods are you eating with the sugars.
4) How strenuous your work out is.
5) etc.
You can get the best information by reading a little on the subject by someone respected, such as Covert Bailey. (He is also very funny, which makes learning from him a joy, but there are others who can teach the same principles.)
My program includes drinking gatorade, diluted, so that I get some sugar that quickly turns to glucose when I play basketball (full court)for 60-90 minutes. But this also takes into consideration the breakfast I had, (I play at 6AM- 7:30-AM). My goal is to be sure at the end of my workout I still have sugar for muscle activity, and so my brain stays alert. If I drank a lot of it, though, I'd be getting too much sugar and defeat my purpose, (i.e., exercising for fun and to maintain good weight.)
Good luck.
