Does anyone know? Name: Jackie Date: Mar. 6th, 2001 Title: Re: How Many Calories To Sustain 1 Pound? I remember it being 3600. Actually, the previous answers are partially correct. 3500 calories is the equivalent energy content of one pound of bodyfat. In other words, in order to burn a pound of stored fat you need to burn an extra 3500 calories in a given time period.
