Title: Bmi Scores Why do I get different results when I use different BMI calculators to try and find my "ideal weight"? One says I should be one weight, another says I should be a little less, another a little more? If you could offer any explanation, that would be great. Thank you Name: Sam Bolyard Date: Mar. 2nd, 2001 Title: Re: Bmi Scores BMI scores aren't exact measurements. They are meant to be approximations and they can completely misrepresent the facts. Example: 5'9" man weighs 160 lbs... wow nearly perfect score... prime health... but wait he's a malnourished alcoholic with a load of fat and no muscle to speak of. Example: 5'9" man weighs 215 lbs. Wow is this guy ever fat right? 'fraid not he's actually got a bodyfat of 5.9% (very good) but is very muscular. There is no such thing as an ideal weight. of my 2 brothers one is 6'3" and 183, the other is 6'1" and 207 and both of them are in GREAT shape.
