Title: Calories What is the difference between calories and Fat Calories? Name: Richard Gonzalez Date: Jan. 3rd, 2001 Title: Re: Calories Calories is the measure of energy you receive from food. e.g. an apple will give you 80 to 100 measures of energy called calories. Fat calories are from fat only. This is the energy you get from fats, fat on meats, butter, margarine, oils, nuts etc. Therefore if you eat 1800 calories a day you should only get 30% from fat. Therefore the reason fat calories are sometimes quoted seperate. You could call all calories by the food they come from.
