Title: Fact Or Fiction? ok, sister in-law told me that, to lose wieght, I have to eat the same amount of calories, that I burn in a day, so lets say, I burn 1700 a day, I am supposed to eat that much calories. is there truth to that? and also I won't start losing weight, until after a 45 min workout? is there truth to that also?? To lose weight you must expend more calories than you are intaking. To have an exact balance will maintain your weight. However, one burns fat most efficiently doing a cardio routine at the caloric break even point. You will burn fat if you consume less calories than you expend, but not quite as efficiently. So the issue is, what part of your goal is weight loss and what part is fat burning? And for you to get benefits of fat burning, you definitely need the cardio (aerobic) activity. For weight loss, its more a matter of calories expended > calories injested. Hope that helped!
