The only way to put on weight with a protein diet is to lift heavy weights, this tears the muscle and the protein fixes the muscle at a faster pace thats why body builder are always trying to take in as much protein as possible, but for losing weight well here why you can lose weight with high protein unlike crabs and fat protein is not stored in the body whatever amount is not used is passed through your system just like water solible vits. if you would like to learn more about the 7pm protein diet you can check out nutraamino.com

    hope i answered everything

All I can say in response to that is, huh?

The reason any diet works in weight loss is that its causing you to take in less calories than you are expending. And nothing has really proven otherwise.

pass through your system? I'd like to see the empirical evidence on that!

I hate to say this and no offense but your DEAD wrong! The ingestion of Protein is the same as any other Macro nutrient. Excess is stored as fat. The bodies ability to use available amino acids has to do with Nitrogen Balance in the cell. If your cells are in a positve nitrogen balance they are able to use the available protien to rebuild. If they are not they do not use it. Then it can be stored as fat or turned into glucose. And guess what Although a protien rich meal causes the endocrine system to realease the hormone Glucagon( which can aid in Fat oxidation). If there are to many aminos in the blood the body will sweep it out with insulin. Insulin, will store the protien in the adipose tissue and in the muscle. No one really needs more than a .8gr of Protien to 1pd of LBM (lean body mass. If your not an avid weight lifter you don't need this much. 1 gram/1kilo(2.2pds) will be more than enough. To make it very simple try to eat from 25%-40% protein. Your body simply cannot use anymore unless your chemically assisted.
