Title: Protein

I am 5'9", and I weigh 158 pounds. I want to add about 10 pounds of muscle over the next two months. What should my daily protein intake be? I generally work out in a gym 4 to 5 times per week, with approx. 30 minutes of cardio, then weight lifting.

Your protein intake should be at least your body weight in grams of protein a day the best way to make sure your getting is have acouple protein shakes in between meals ultra-pro from nutraamino.com is the best one because it only has one carb and no fat and it packs 25 grams in a 8oz shake and it does hurt that it taste like choc milk in water :) well go luck putting on the weight

I don't know if your a hard gainer or easy gainer and that has a great deal to do with the nutrition behind muscle weight gain. Understand something. Protein is needed to pack on muscle but so are Carbohydrates and so is Fat. Try to take in .8gr/ 1pd. of body weight. Dink a protien shake within one hour of your work out. Add a sweet potato and a tablespoon of Flax oil with it to aid in Glycogen replenishment. If your resistance routine is good this is a sure fire way to pack on some muscle. Remember, Take in Protein carbs and Fat. You need them. Not to get to scientific but HGH and IGF 1 levels are high in your blood after you lift. Your muscle cells are in Positive Nitrogen Balance. Eating the proper ratio and quantities of Macro nutrients will enable you to take advantage of the situation and cause muscle growth.
      Good Luck,

P.S. Your post work out drink should have around 40grms of protein. Any other shake taken during the day only needs 1/2 to 2/3 this much.
