Title: Lbs Vs Size

Can anyone explain the discrepancy between my weight (165 lbs on a 5'4" frame), which nearly any chart would describe as overweight- and the size clothes I wear (8s and 10s), which most resources would describe as smaller than average? Trust me, I'm not overly muscular, although I have done sporadic weight lifting for about 6 months. Any insight would be appreciated!

Throw the scale out the window. Get your body fat tested.

I am 5'6" and weigh 145, but have 20 percent body fat. The "weight chart" says I am overweight. Bathroom scales go by your BMI (body mass index). This measures your total body - muscle, bone, fluid, fat, etc., and we all know muscle weighs more than fat !!

It sounds to me like you look great !!
