Title: OK To Eat Carbos At Night?? Is it okay to eat carbohydrates at night, say before you sleep, that kinda thing? Name: Lionel Date: Dec. 7th, 2000 Title: Re: OK To Eat Carbos At Night?? It really depends on your fitness goals. If you are underwieght and trying to put on size, eating carbs at night before bed may be beneficial. However, if your trying to cut-up, tone, or lose weight, you shouldn't eat any carbs after 7:00 p.m. That is of course assuming that you have a normal 9-5 lifestyle (e.g. not working the swing shift or something) Name: BJS Date: Dec. 7th, 2000 Title: Re: OK To Eat Carbos At Night?? What? that is not true. you can eat after 7. it is not like your body at 7 p.m. says : "Hmmm. it is 7 pm so lets see, i have to stop wanting food". What matters is how many calories you expended during the day vs. how many calories you took in. There is this guy, national cross-country champion, Pat Porter, who needed about 4K calories a day and who took majority of that after 7 pm. The other point to look at would be: What if you work-out after 7 pm? so you will need to consume more carbs after you train to replenish your glycogen levels. Assuming that you are somewhat active, arbitrarily choosing a cutoff period after which you won't eat is absolute nonsense. It is prob a good idea to REDUCE your carb intake late at night. Bottom line, eat according to your daily activities. HOpe this helps Alex Name: Alex Date: Dec. 7th, 2000 Title: Re: OK To Eat Carbos At Night?? The simple point of my statement was, unused carbs will convert to FAT while you sleep.
